Dayton High School’s powerlifting team had an outstanding showing at the Region 4 Division 1 Regional Meet on Saturday. The Broncos were represented by seven male lifters, with Joseph Benavides and Yashir Villa finishing in the Top 5 in the combined 5A/6A division.

Five Dayton athletes earned qualifications for the State Powerlifting Meet:

• Merkle Judge
• Yashir Villa
• Gael Sanchez
• Aiden Soliz

In total, 11 Dayton High School powerlifters (boys and girls) have qualified for the State Meet, marking the highest number of state qualifiers in school history. We are incredibly proud of these student-athletes and their continued dedication and success!
