Dayton Broncos Basketball
Program Objective
To use the game of basketball to develop character in young men that will be demonstrated throughout the school community to produce players that parents, coaches, administrators, student body, and the community will be proud to support. Our goal is to instill in our players the ability to handle adversity with integrity and success with humility to motivate our players and provide them with the tools necessary to be successful in basketball, the classroom, and life.
Keys to Success
My coaching philosophy is based on developing a vision where coaches and players take ownership of the program. There must be a whole - hearted commitment to what we are trying to accomplish as a program. The program’s success is directly linked to each member’s commitment to the program.
Our success in basketball will be a by-product of our success in developing character in young men. To the degree, we are successful at instilling the principles of structure, purpose, discipline, and preparation is the degree we will be successful as a basketball program. We must be willing to lose a game to build the character it takes to win championships.
I must demonstrate the character I expect from my coaches and players. It is imperative as an educator to emphasize the importance of being successful in the classroom as well as the basketball court. I must be as visible as possible to help ensure a school culture that is conducive for learning. It is also important for me to be accessible to teachers, administrators, parents and players.
